Liz Monaco

    Liz was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Delaware County, PA.    She is a graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia, plus took additional classes from Moore College of Art, Phila. College of Art and numerous technical workshops adding to a lifetime of continuing education.   Over the years she has worked as a freelance artist, and in real estate and insurance sales.

    After moving to Palm Coast, Fla. in 1998, Liz was introduced to and fell in love with the medium of colored pencil.  In 2005, she became a charter member of the St. Augustine District Chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) and served on its Board until 2011.   In 2005, she became an active member of the Flagler County Art League (FCAL), serving as Director of Publicity, Director of Ways and Means and from 2008-2010, served as FCAL’s President.

    Liz taught colored pencil and beginning drawing classes at FCAL, continues to offer private classes and taught with the Adult Ed program at Flagler County School District.  She hopes to spend summers in Lancaster County, PA. and each winter return to Palm Coast to reconnect with the many artists and friends she has made over the years. She hopes to continue teaching whenever possible.

    Her work has received numerous awards and her artwork appeared in the 25th anniversary edition of the “FCAL Celebration of Art” book and on the cover of the “Halifax” magazine.
